Just wanted to share an incident which I experienced recently at Guindy Railway Station. It was about 8.30 P.M and I was waiting for the train at 2nd platform. The train was yet to come and I was restless since it was already late and I was tired. Just plugged my headset and was hearing some songs while waiting. There were few couples sitting in the bench nearby, probably about 4 pairs facing towards platform 1. But I am damn sure that they were not married, but lovers!!!
Just then I heard the Train towards beach arriving at 1st platform ad turned around to see the train arriving. A Blind man of about 50 was approaching the 1st platform. Most probably waiting for the Beach Train. The Train hasn't stopped till then, but that man began approach the Train in motion without knowing that it hasn't stopped. Obviously that man crashed on few people hanging out of the Train and was missing his stability and was about to fall between the tracks.
Realizing the seriousness of the incident I just ran towards that man and pulled him away from the Train into the platform with all my strength and thanks to the God, I succeeded pulling him in. Just didn't wait for the words from him, I turned back for my train and started walking, noticed the couples still chatting without even glanced what happened around them. Went straight towards them and asked them if they notice that blind man was about to caught in the accident. They replied carelessly that they have already noticed the incident but sat because he is none of their business. Shocked of their reply, I just asked them, "What if he is your father?" and started without expecting the result.
On my way towards home, I was thinking the fact, what has happened to us. Are we missing something that existed before. Are we still humans? Are we still considering the society as a part of our life? If not, what are we travelling towards? Just towards money? If yes, then after few years of life, we will just have people around us and not people who care for us. If the same state continues,then after few years, we will be surrounded by people, but not who love us. Buildings, but not a lovely environment. Not a Society, but a few group of people who doesn't care for others. And finally, Even our neighbor turns to be an alien and not our friend!!!
